Job Summary:

The Bilingual Social Service Specialist will provide case management and support to kinship families in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social work, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform case management with kinship families as needed
  • Provide resources, referrals, and service linkages based on family needs
  • Conduct in-person home visits with kinship families
  • Assess financial eligibility of families for program
  • Conduct initial file reviews and send out missing document letters
  • Effectively communicate with community partners and advocate for families
  • Assist kinship families with Kinship Legal guardianship application
  • Maintain and update electronic records using 211, Evolv, and Salesforce databases
  • Scan and upload all documents sent out or received into Evolv
  • Conduct daily receipt reconciliation with case record and close out completed files
  • Assist program supervisor with additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree required, Bachelors degree preferred in social work, psychology, or related field
  • Minimum of three years experience working in an accredited social service agency
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a must
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
