Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Specialist II to join our team at the City of Boston. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing construction activities, overseeing development projects, and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage construction activities for assigned developments, including residential and mixed-use projects.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure timely and within-budget project completion.
  • Review and approve construction drawings, contracts, and specifications to ensure compliance with city regulations and standards.
  • Monitor construction progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare and review construction specifications, scopes of work, and cost estimates for development and rehab projects.
  • Ensure compliance with HQS standards, sustainability practices, and energy conservation methods.
  • Perform related work as required.
Requirements
  • At least three years of full-time residential construction management experience, including mid-rise and high-rise construction.
  • Valid Massachusetts driver's license and vehicle required.
  • Unrestricted Construction Supervisor's license or certification by the State within 12 months of hiring date.
  • Working knowledge of Mass. State Building Codes and Regulations.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
