Dean of Academic Engagement and Innovation

Columbia State Community College is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Dean of Academic Engagement and Innovation. This is a key leadership role that requires a strong understanding of academic operations, instructional design, and student success strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Supervision: Provide strategic leadership and supervision to the Tutoring and Learning Center, Distance Education, Media Services, Faculty Professional Development, and Center for Teaching and Learning.
- Academic Operations: Oversee and coordinate TN eCampus activities, including course development, live streaming support, and faculty credentialing.
- Instructional Design: Lead the instructional design team to provide guidance, mentoring, and assistance to online course development.
- Student Success: Coordinate high-impact practices and other effective student engagement pedagogies to ensure maximum impact on student success.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise and evaluate staff in the areas assigned, including the Tutoring Centers and Media Services.
- Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and submit reports, as required by the institution and/or state agencies, for the areas supervised.
- Education: Master's degree minimum, doctorate preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of five years full-time experience, including at least three years (preferably at the community college level) supervising online/asynchronous learning, course development, and high-impact practice inclusion in higher education curriculum.
- Skills: Demonstrated expertise in instructional design, leadership, and supervision; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
- Work Environment: Normal sitting and movement in an office environment.
- Travel: Travel to Tennessee Board of Regents offices, off-campus instructional locations, and other areas for meetings and other job-related activities.
