About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Senior Analyst to join our Institutional Retirement Solutions team at Securian Financial Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data, and providing exceptional support to our business partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, including monthly financial statements and reporting
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data, including journal entries and accounting transactions
  • Develop and document procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting
  • Support the preparation and communication of financial information to auditors, insurance examiners, rating agencies, and company leaders
  • Participate in projects related to financial reporting or financial contracts
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead implementation
Requirements
  • Accounting experience with exposure to statutory, management-based, tax, and GAAP for financial reporting and budgeting
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Math
  • Demonstrated initiative to serve as a resource for team members and independently manage projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide superior customer service to a variety of business partners
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to review and analyze financial statements and reports
  • Understanding of the structure of data within financial and administration systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to effectively multi-task and meet prescribed deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of insurance accounting concepts and products
  • Reinsurance accounting experience
