Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our team in the field of nuclear reactor safety. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing design basis safety analysis for nuclear reactors, with a focus on Loss of Coolant Accidents (LOCA).
Key Responsibilities:- Perform design basis safety analysis for nuclear reactors, including LOCA scenarios
- Develop and assess models and correlations for prediction of two-phase flow and heat transfer phenomena
- Use statistical techniques for performing realistic nuclear reactor safety analysis and/or development of analysis methodologies for design basis accidents
- Cognizance of plant specific licensing basis, Analysis of Record, 50.46 reporting
- Point of contact for plant-specific LOCA specific inquiries from both internal and external customers
- Evaluate impacts of plant modifications and operating changes on design analysis
- Mentor and coach newer engineers
- Identify and suggest process improvements
- Participate on project teams, contribute to project schedule generation and cost estimates
- Ability to apply fundamental engineering principles
- Concise and effective written and verbal skills
- Ability to independently establish and implement personal goals and action plans
- Develop and deliver technical presentations to communicate a variety of issues: project status, problem resolution, engineering recommendations, etc.
- Interest in software programming and code development, while not required, is considered a benefit
