About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Counselor to join our team at Providence Alaska Medical Center. As a key member of our behavioral health team, you will provide therapeutic counseling interventions and psycho-education to children and adolescent patients and their families who have experienced child sexual abuse or other family trauma.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address the unique needs of each patient
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients and their families
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop treatment plans
  • Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in accordance with established protocols

Requirements
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
  • Experience working with children and adolescents, particularly those who have experienced trauma
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
