About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Data Scientist to join our team at SoFi. As a key member of our data science organization, you will play a critical role in driving our technical capabilities in machine learning and artificial intelligence across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy machine learning and AI solutions that drive business value and improve customer experiences.
  • Lead the development of technical standards and best practices for machine learning and AI across the organization.
  • Advocate for the adoption of emerging technologies and trends in machine learning and AI.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure machine learning and AI systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data scientists and engineers.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in machine learning and AI, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement within the organization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in machine learning and AI, with a strong background in software engineering and data science.
  • Expert-level knowledge of machine learning and AI technologies, including deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions.
