The Support Specialist role is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals aged 18 and above, possessing a high school diploma, who are eager to pursue a career in Human Services.
In this role, team members will provide essential care to clients within a group home environment, focusing on enhancing living skills, social interactions, and financial literacy, while supporting our therapeutic team.
Key Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic Computer Proficiency
- Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills
- Clean Driving Record (valid driver's license required)
Certifications Required or Obtainable:
- CPR/First Aid
- Medication Administration Certification I and II
- Crisis Prevention Intervention
- Personal Automobile Liability Insurance ($100k, $300k, $50k)
Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight and direct care to individuals with serious mental health conditions in a residential setting.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.
- Understand and implement recovery plan interventions effectively.
- Assist clients in developing essential living skills.
- Accurately document patient information, including vital signs and medication administration.
- Conduct individual and group training sessions focused on basic living skills.
- Model appropriate behaviors and interventions for clients.
- Maintain accurate progress notes in the Electronic Health Record as mandated by regulatory bodies.
- Monitor clients for any unusual or harmful behaviors and report findings.
- Facilitate client activities both within the facility and in the community.
- Communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
- Provide transportation for clients to appointments and community activities.
- Regularly review and reinforce house rules with clients.
- Ensure a clean and safe living environment.
- Conduct fire drills and emergency procedures as scheduled.
- Report any concerns to the House Supervisor.
- Attend required meetings and training sessions.
- Follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Uphold confidentiality at all times.
- Adhere to scheduled shifts and follow proper call-out procedures.
- Report any facility or vehicle issues to the House Supervisor and Facility Manager.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by leadership.
