Public Citizen is seeking a skilled Climate and Financial Regulation Policy Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing our policy development and advocacy at the intersection of climate and financial regulation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policy proposals to advance a swift, safe transition away from fossil fuels and promote racial, economic, and intergenerational justice.
  • Advocate before Congress and administrative agencies on financial regulatory policies that incorporate climate considerations.
  • Represent Public Citizen in public forums and participate in coalitions to advance our policy agenda.
  • Develop and maintain media relationships and respond to press inquiries, serving as a spokesperson for the organization.
  • Write editorial board memoranda, press releases, op-eds, letters to the editor, and blog posts to advance our policy agenda.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of or experience in banking and finance, as well as outstanding analytical thinking, judgment, and oral and written communication skills. Independence, strong impulses toward self-starting and self-finishing, and the ability to execute planned strategy while reacting to new developments are also essential.
