The University of Miami UHealth/SoLé Mia is set to launch a new facility that will enhance the delivery of high-quality academic medicine to the surrounding communities. Our dedicated team of healthcare professionals will encompass a diverse array of specialties, including the NCI-designated Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, recognized as the leading eye hospital in the nation. This new establishment will also provide advanced urologic treatments from the esteemed Desai Sethi Urology Institute, alongside exceptional care from our nationally ranked neurology and neurosurgery programs.

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a full-time Senior Operations Manager, Satellite Services. This role is pivotal in supporting the Director of Satellite Practice in overseeing all operational, managerial, and administrative functions of a level III+ Sylvester satellite practice. The incumbent will play a key role in evaluating and managing various business and administrative aspects, including budgeting, facility management, staffing, and patient flow optimization. Furthermore, the Senior Operations Manager will facilitate the coordination and standardization of Sylvester's Oncology Satellites to maximize resource utilization, enhance data analysis, and improve patient experiences.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Oversees and evaluates the business operations for the Sylvester satellite, including performance reporting, budget support, and process enhancement.
  • Develops and enforces a plan to ensure compliance with all hospital regulations and safety standards.
  • Conducts regular facility assessments to safeguard assets and ensure operational integrity.
  • Maintains a secure and hygienic environment for both patients and staff, managing routine maintenance and necessary repairs.
  • Evaluates operational needs, service requests, and supply management.
  • Ensures staff compliance with Sylvester and University policies, including training and licensure requirements.
  • Manages a small team and oversees all HR functions, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Administers vendor contracts and ensures compliance with operational standards.
  • Communicates regularly with staff and leadership through newsletters addressing compliance, training, and performance metrics.
  • Oversees provider scheduling to ensure adequate patient care during all hours.
  • Leads employee engagement initiatives and fosters provider relations.
  • Acts as a liaison for various departments, including facilities, IT, and supply chain management.
  • Coordinates projects for satellite facilities, including key meetings and initiatives.
  • Evaluates internal controls and recommends improvements for operational efficiency.
  • Continuously assesses the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with University policies.
  • Ensures staff training on operational controls and University policies.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Experience:

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:

  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to foster positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Experience in budget management and adherence to financial constraints.
  • Proficient in directing and evaluating departmental operations.
  • Strong planning and delegation skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
