The Emergency Restoration Specialist is responsible for delivering urgent restoration and recovery services at both residential and commercial locations. This role may involve specialization in various areas such as water damage recovery, fire damage restoration, mold removal, or carpet care. The Specialist is expected to complete assigned tasks efficiently while providing outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Restoration and Cleaning Services
- Conducts water/fire/smoke restoration, mold removal, personal property cleaning, carpet care, and general cleaning as directed by the Crew Chief or Manager.
- Tasks may include water extraction, content pack-out, disposal of irreparable materials, light demolition, deodorization, surface treatment, and general cleaning.
- Properly sets up and removes air movers and dehumidifiers while monitoring water damage.
- Ensures that all equipment, supplies, and tools are handled, maintained, and stored correctly, returning all items upon job completion.
- Records inventory of personal property received, cleaned, and returned to the customer.
- May serve as a designated driver for company vehicles.
- Follows all safety protocols to ensure the safety of both employees and customers.
Exceptional Customer Service
- Strives to meet and exceed customer expectations, ensuring timely project completion.
- Addresses customer inquiries and resolves concerns effectively.
- Maintains open communication, providing project updates to customers throughout the process.
- Escalates unresolved issues or property damage to the Supervisor for prompt resolution.
Team Collaboration and Conduct
- Completes assigned tasks and willingly assists colleagues to achieve project goals.
- Communicates effectively with team members, management, and clients.
- Treats all colleagues with respect and professionalism.
- Accurately processes timecards, Daily Time Logs, and other relevant reports.
- Demonstrates punctuality for work and project assignments.
- Participates in on-call shifts as required, responding to emergencies promptly.
- Represents ServiceMaster by Rice professionally in all interactions.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures.
Training and Development
- Maintains certifications to avoid lapses in qualifications.
- Understands the use of cleaning products and equipment necessary for various projects.
- Engages in training to acquire new skills and knowledge.
- Effectively applies new training in work assignments.
Qualifications and Skills
- Preferred knowledge in water and fire restoration, mold remediation, and cleaning techniques. Relevant certifications are advantageous.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Basic proficiency in Excel for inventory data entry.
- Ability to sketch physical spaces, take measurements, and calculate charges.
- Dependable and adaptable to meet scheduling needs, including emergency services outside regular hours.
- Commitment to ongoing personal and professional growth.
- Valid driver's license is required.
Physical Requirements
This role is physically demanding. Candidates must be able to perform the following tasks with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Stand at heights of 12 feet using ladders or scaffolding.
- Climb stairs and remain on feet on concrete surfaces throughout the day.
