As a member of our Tax Professional team, your primary responsibilities will include establishing communication with tax authorities and managing case files on behalf of our clients to negotiate and resolve outstanding tax debts. Compliance with all federal and state tax regulations is essential. Your experience should encompass obtaining release of levies, negotiating payment arrangements, adhering to deadlines, and preparing financial documents to optimally represent our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with client personnel across operations, finance, and accounting
  • Assist in drafting opinion letters, responses to IRS inquiries, and other technical documentation
  • Must hold active credentials as a licensed Enrolled Agent
  • Preferably possess at least 2 years of experience as an Enrolled Agent with a focus on tax resolution matters (e.g., offers in compromise, installment agreements, currently not collectible status, levy releases, innocent spouse claims)
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills along with excellent customer service capabilities
  • Demonstrate exceptional multitasking and organizational skills
  • Maintain a keen attention to detail and effective time management
  • Prepare and review financial documents to assess the client's financial situation and identify optimal resolution strategies
  • Communicate with the IRS and state tax agencies to ascertain the status of clients' tax obligations and secure collection holds
  • Facilitate the release of wage garnishments and bank levies to provide immediate relief to clients
  • Maintain regular communication with team members and clients regarding their cases and provide effective guidance

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strong organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Capable of collaborating effectively within a team setting
  • Experience in obtaining and analyzing tax transcripts
  • Skilled in reviewing and analyzing financial documents to determine the best resolution options for clients
  • Maintaining accurate records and notes within our systems
  • Regularly establishing contact with the IRS and/or state tax agencies
  • Providing clients and management with realistic timelines and updates on their cases
  • Enrolling clients in tax relief programs
