Job Overview

Aligned Solutions is on the lookout for a dedicated Tax Compliance Supervisor who values a balanced work environment. This role offers the unique benefit of having Fridays off from May through December.

The Tax Compliance Supervisor will be tasked with managing tax-related compliance, research, and special projects across various tax domains. Additionally, this position will involve direct supervision of one to two interns and indirect oversight of three to four staff members. Key responsibilities include:

1. Overseeing and evaluating the work of team members, which encompasses tax returns, extensions, tax planning calculations, and write-up tasks for diverse entities, with a particular emphasis on individual tax issues.

2. Reviewing compiled financial statements for corporations, non-profit organizations, partnerships, and individuals, ensuring a comprehensive analysis of workpapers, accounting entries, bank reconciliations, and client documentation.

3. Crafting and assessing complex tax planning projections for both individual and corporate estimated tax obligations.

4. Monitoring client deliverables and ensuring adherence to deadlines.

5. Preparing or reviewing intricate U.S. and state individual income, gift tax, and estate tax returns.

6. Conducting thorough tax research and drafting memos that summarize research findings and conclusions.

7. Managing IRS and state agency audits, inquiries, and tax notifications, while coordinating with both the IRS and clients throughout these processes.

8. Engaging in direct communication with current clients, colleagues, management, and IRS representatives on various tax-related matters.

9. Providing expertise on software utilization, processes, and workflows within the department.

Qualifications for this role include:

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in tax.

Expertise in individual tax compliance and planning (experience with CS Suite and UltraTax is advantageous).

Experience in conducting tax research using RIA.

Knowledge of gift, estate, and trust tax returns is beneficial.

Familiarity with partnership tax is a positive attribute.
