Position Responsibilities:

We are expanding our presence across various markets, and this role will involve occasional travel to our locations.

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting; an MBA is advantageous if it complements a solid accounting foundation.
  3. At least 3 years of experience in audit roles at a reputable CPA firm.
  4. Experience as a Controller or Head of Finance in an organization with annual sales exceeding $20 million.
  5. Hands-on experience as an Accountant, Accounting Manager, or Controller.
  6. Proficient in accrual accounting principles and knowledgeable in GAAP versus tax basis reporting.
  7. Experience managing accounting for multiple LLCs and multi-location operations.
  8. In-depth understanding of accounting operations, including account reconciliations and balance sheet substantiation.
  9. Strong grasp of cash management, including billing, collections, real estate leases, and payroll processing.
  10. Experience in business planning, including budget preparation and strategic decision support models.
  11. Familiarity with inventory management, costing, and real estate lease accounting.

Key Functions:

  1. This role is highly hands-on, requiring direct involvement in all accounting and reporting tasks.
  2. Establish an efficient finance and accounting structure, considering outsourcing where necessary.
  3. Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and compliant with GAAP.
  4. Close financial books accurately within a specified timeframe, utilizing accruals for late invoices.
  5. Ensure timely recording and reconciliation of all transactions, including bank, credit card, payroll, and sales.
  6. Maintain a comprehensive database of accounting reconciliations and payroll reports.
  7. Prepare semi-annual budgets and monthly forecasts, conducting variance analysis with management.
  8. Develop key performance metrics and dashboards for individual locations.
  9. Oversee payroll, cash disbursements, cash receipts, and daily sales recording.
  10. Assist with new equity investments or debt arrangements.
  11. Support the preparation of Board meeting materials.
  12. Handle ad-hoc requests from the CEO and other management team members.

Compensation Package:

  • Competitive salary between $130,000 and $150,000, with potential equity participation.
