Job Title: Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is a key member of our finance team, responsible for supporting financial analysis objectives by assisting in the administration of sound financial procedures and processes. This role will assist with the preparation of budgets, business plans, and financial evaluations by providing reports and data management and system support.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor annual budget processes and related forecasting to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal control and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with analytical work performed within the business units, ensuring accuracy and documentation in accordance with internal control, GAAP, and other agencies regulations.
  • Support the monthly inventory process by managing and maintaining inventory accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal control and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the resolution of operational and tactical issues, providing timely and effective solutions to ensure business continuity.
  • Post intercompany transactions, assist in credit card reconciliations, and other month-end duties to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • May monitor overhead expenses and help identify potential mismanagement of resources, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Work with other global finance departments to ensure alignment and consistency in financial processes and procedures.
  • May be responsible for lean initiatives and continuous improvement processes to deter future variances, ensuring continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Monitor and answer questions regarding the department programs, providing timely and effective support to ensure business continuity.
  • Partners with other departments to assist in the creation and allocation of their budgets, ensuring alignment and consistency in financial processes and procedures.
  • Monitor, navigate, and evaluate multiple systems containing financial information, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal control and regulatory requirements.
Required Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as accounting or finance, preferred.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • MBA or CMA certification preferred.
Competencies:
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Proficient in SAP and inventory accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) and Sarbanes-Oxley.
