Senior Accountant Job Description

EFPR Group LLP is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join its Tax and Business Services team in Rochester, New York. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality tax and business services to clients, including tax compliance, tax planning, and business advisory services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and/or review complex tax returns, including individual, corporate, partnership, and other entity types, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Develop tax-efficient strategies to minimize clients' tax liabilities while maximizing their financial resources, providing proactive tax planning advice to clients.
  • Advise clients on financial and business decisions, assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to help clients make informed choices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their financial needs and providing personalized service to provide innovative tax planning and consulting.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Stay updated on tax law changes and regulatory updates, ensuring that clients are informed and in compliance with the latest requirements.
  • Work closely with senior staff to analyze financial statements and provide insights for business decision-making.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of professional accounting experience, with a focus on tax and business services.
  • Effective leadership, interpersonal, organizational, technological, and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with tax research software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
  • Professional demeanor, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on industry trends.
