About the Role

Navy Federal Credit Union is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Engineering and Vendor Management team as a Project Management Intern. As a Summer Associate, you will have the opportunity to work on impactful projects and gain valuable experience in project management, team collaboration, and communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, securing, and managing resources and execution for various facilities projects to ensure construction specifications, budgets, and deadlines are met.
  • Set, manage, and communicate client expectations and stakeholder needs for the project.
  • Contribute to project teams by assisting in the development of work plans, scope, schedules, budget, milestones, deliverables, communications, and training.
  • Oversee project progress to ensure documentation and schedules meet customer requirements.
  • Prepare and coordinate professional architectural and engineering services to design projects to meet business unit objectives.
  • Partner with engineers and architects in the design and function of the projects.
  • Secure resources and ensure optimum utilization of those resources, meeting budgetary requirements.
  • Identify and minimize project risks or constraints that would impact project deliverables.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with professional architects, engineers, vendors, and general contractors to complete the projects.
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve issues associated with project(s) ensuring deliverables conform to established quality and schedules.
  • Provide status reports to management regarding project deliverables.
  • Manage approvals and permits through project completion and operation.
  • Gather relevant metrics to determine and measure overall vendor quality.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, participate in developing RFPs, contract negotiations, oversee contract quality assurance, budget, and cost mechanisms.
  • Review service contracts for thoroughness of services to be provided and ensure legal and contractual requirements are clear.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with project/program management processes and methodologies.
  • Ability to lead project planning, management, scheduling, and presentation in commercial construction or facility management.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment; display a high degree of initiative; and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in analyzing, problem-solving, planning, and organizing project-related activities.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exposure to working and participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Exposure to working with diverse internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to compile, organize, and present information clearly and concisely.
  • Effective organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective skill interpreting, applying, and explaining written and oral regulations, instructions, products, and procedures.
