M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a project or sub-section of a project.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Oversight: Run day-to-day operations of a project or sub-section of a project, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
- Change Management: Identify change orders and ensure effective resolution, working closely with stakeholders to minimize disruptions.
- Cash Flow Management: Plan and monitor cash flow against cash expenses, providing weekly and monthly reports to stakeholders.
- Documentation: Maintain as-builts as work is completed, documenting project issues/conditions and ensuring that all necessary records are up-to-date.
- Project Completion: Plan and execute project completion and punch list, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Goal Setting: Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work, working closely with team members to achieve project objectives.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals, to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
- Travel: Ability and willingness to travel to project locations as needed.
Requirements
- Security Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; Active DoD TS/SCI clearance level is required.
- Education and Experience: BS in Engineering (Preferred EE or Industry related degree) with 5 years of experience, or related construction experience with five years' working for an electrical or construction contractor.
- Project Management Experience: Experience working on construction projects ranging from $500,000 to $10M, with experience working with contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendums, specifications, change orders, RFIs, submittals.
- CPM Scheduling: Experience with CPM Scheduling, including proficiency with Primavera P6.
- Design Techniques: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints and drawings on projects.
- Interpersonal and Writing Skills: Strong interpersonal and writing skills, with the ability to effectively plan and organize one's own activities or the activities of others.
- Computer Proficiency: Proficiency with Computers, including MS Office, Blue Beam, and PDF.
Preferred Skill Set
- Accubid Estimating: Accubid Estimating (Or equivalent) directly related to Electrical Installations.
- Primavera P6: Primavera P6 CPM Scheduling Experience and proficiency (or equivalent).
Abilities
- Computer Use: Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
- Sitting and Reaching: Sitting for extended periods of time, reaching by extending hands or arms in any direction.
- Finger Dexterity: Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
- Listening and Communication: Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences, communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
- Reading and Understanding: Read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
- Problem Solving: Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
