Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical expertise in responding to security incidents, including forensic analysis of devices involved.
Investigate potential intrusions and security events, implementing measures to contain and mitigate incidents.
Research cyber-attacks, malware, and threat actors to assess potential impact and develop effective remediation strategies.
Analyze network traffic to identify attack activity and vulnerabilities.
Document incident response activities, produce reports, and capture lessons learned.
Communicate incident response activities clearly and effectively to stakeholders.

Requirements:

Experience:
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in managing incident response teams, with a strong focus on investigating and mitigating security incidents.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in using SOC tools such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), IDS/IPS (Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems), and forensic analysis tools.
Strong skills in forensic analysis, malware analysis, and reverse engineering of security incidents.
In-depth knowledge of network protocols, traffic analysis, and common attack vectors.

Leadership & Management:
Experience leading and managing IT security teams, with the ability to assign tasks, track performance, and mentor team members.
Ability to develop and implement strategies for incident response and overall security operations.
Strong project management skills, with experience in planning, executing, and reporting on incident response activities.

Education & Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), or GCIH (GIAC Certified Incident Handler) are highly desirable.

Location & Work Environment:
Candidates must reside in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with a combination of remote work and on-site presence in Alexandria, Virginia.

Other Qualifications:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing security incidents.
Ability to handle multiple incidents simultaneously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Must be eligible to obtain or possess a security clearance if required by the client.
