Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic MRI examinations to patients of all ages. Under direct supervision, you will perform diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations according to established imaging protocols, ensuring efficient and effective patient care. Your exceptional customer service skills will be essential in maintaining a high level of satisfaction among patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review orders and daily schedules to confirm correct exam procedures
  • Perform MRI studies according to established imaging protocols, consulting with radiologists as needed
  • Utilize knowledge, skills, and abilities required for patient care, including routine and emergent examinations
  • Ensure accuracy of information and data entry
  • Provide service-oriented communications with patients to explain MRI procedures, obtain patient history, and conduct imaging screens
  • Position patients as required for requested exams and use appropriate coils and sequences
  • Assume responsibilities for patient needs during procedures
  • Perform venipuncture and administer contrast material intravenously, or prepare and operate the contrast injector
  • Maintain materials and linen supply, and ensure the cleanliness of assigned rooms
Requirements
  • Minimum one year of MRI work experience within the last three years
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist License (Oregon) or Registered Radiologic Technologist (Washington) certification
  • Basic Life Support certification within one month of hire
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Magnetic Resonance Imaging required at hire

Notes

This is a MRI-Float position that will support operations at Sunnyside Medical Center.
