Athletic Trainer Position at Cleveland Clinic

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Athletic Trainer to join our team. As an Athletic Trainer at Cleveland Clinic, you will play a critical role in providing patient-first healthcare and working alongside passionate caregivers to deliver exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares athletes for practice or competition, ensuring they are physically and mentally prepared to perform at their best.
- Evaluates and manages injuries, determining the best course of treatment and referring patients to physicians as needed.
- Maintains accurate and detailed medical files on each athlete, serving as a liaison between the physician and the athlete.
- Develops and implements treatment and rehabilitation programs under the supervision of a physician, with a focus on helping athletes recover from injuries and return to competition.
- Creates conditioning programs for injured and non-injured athletes, promoting overall health and wellness.
Additional Responsibilities for Clinical/Ambulatory Setting:
- Performs comprehensive health maintenance reviews, providing oral reports to physicians regarding patient history and chief complaints.
- Scribes documentation of visits into medical records, remaining in the exam room with physicians as patients are treated.
- Reviews post-visit instructions with patients, ensuring they understand their treatment plans and follow-up care.
- Assists with gathering data under the supervision of physicians or nurses, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Administers treatments under the direction of physicians, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and completion of an Athletic Training Program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
- Athletic Trainer Certification (ATC) certified by National Athletic Trainers Board of Certification (NATBOC).
- State licensure as an Athletic Trainer (AT) if required by state law.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Work Environment:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires full body motion, including handling and lifting up to 75 pounds.
- Manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods of time.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- May be required to drive to other locations.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
