Essential Skills
  • Experience in driver education and training.

Training and Development
Through comprehensive training, you will acquire the skills necessary for a successful civilian career in trucking, moving, or public transportation as a driver of heavy trucks or buses.

Compensation While Training
Instead of incurring costs for training, you will receive a paycheck while learning these valuable skills. The Army National Guard offers you the opportunity to earn while you learn, along with tuition assistance.

Training Requirements
Training for a Truck Driver includes:
  • 10 weeks of Basic Training to develop fundamental soldiering skills.
  • 7 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT) focused on driving various military vehicles, combining classroom instruction with practical field experience.
