Psychiatry Triage Medical Assistant

Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA) is a vital member of the healthcare team, supporting the organization's mission, vision, values, and standards of care. This role focuses on psychiatric triage, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to maintain the MA Scope of Practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintains assigned schedule and adheres to policies and procedures.
  • Ensures organized patient records and maintains NAL Psychiatry Triage Standards of care.
  • Completes medication refills, obtains and reviews patient and provider messages, and meets with patients as needed.
  • Obtains vital signs, saliva, and urine specimens, administers injectable medications, and attends various meetings as assigned.
  • Acts as liaison to pharmaceutical representatives, maintains oversight of sample medications, and completes internal and external referrals.
  • Coordinates with laboratories and performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Active, unrestricted Certified Medical Assistant certification.
  • Willingness to obtain licensure in additional states as needed.
  • Knowledge of mental healthcare and psychotropic medications.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, detail-oriented, problem-solving, and solution-focused.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records and applicable technology.
