Psychiatry Triage Medical Assistant Specialist

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA) is a vital member of the healthcare team at Nystrom & Associates Ltd, supporting the organization's mission, vision, values, and standards of care. This role plays a key part in the psychiatric mediation management functions of the clinic, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams in a collegial fashion, maintaining the MA Scope of Practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintains assigned schedule as agreed upon at the time of hire, unless otherwise discussed and approved in advance.
Follows policies and procedures of the organization.
Maintains organized patient records.
Standards of Care:
The MA maintains NAL Psychiatry Triage Standards of care, including:
Completing medications refills
Obtaining, reviewing, prioritizing, and returning patient and provider messages
Meeting with patients as needed
Obtaining Vital signs, saliva, and urine specimens
Administering injectable medications
Attending various meetings as assigned
Acting as liaison to pharmaceutical representatives
Maintaining oversight of sample medications
Completing Internal and External Referrals
Coordinating with Laboratories
Requirements:
Active, unrestricted Certified Medical Assistant
Willingness to get licensed in additional states as needed to support organization growth.
Knowledgeable about mental healthcare and psychotropic medications.
Personal and professional characteristics include strong critical thinking skills, detail oriented, problem solver, solution-focused, and maintains flexibility and a positive attitude.
Experience with Electronic Health Records and applicable technology.
