Job Summary
The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver technical expertise in pharmaceutical microbiology. This position plays a vital role in ensuring quality control and assurance within the operational departments involved in the production of pharmaceutical products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine environmental and systems monitoring in manufacturing and laboratory settings.
- Conduct laboratory experiments in accordance with established standard operating procedures (SOPs) to determine necessary actions.
- Adhere to policies and assist in the formulation of new procedures and documentation.
- Maintain comprehensive records of experiments and results, including relevant calculations.
- Aid in data interpretation as needed and ensure precise experimentation with thorough documentation of outcomes.
- Support the preparation of data for presentations.
- Maintain a level of technical knowledge aligned with the scientific demands of the organization.
Supervisory Role:
This position does not entail direct supervisory responsibilities.
Collaboration:
The individual will work closely with team members within the department.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- No prior experience in pharmaceutical microbiology is required.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related life science from an accredited institution or equivalent experience is necessary.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The following skills and abilities are essential:
- Proficiency in computer applications for word processing, spreadsheet management, and data visualization.
- Capability to qualify for Class 100 gowning and maintain that status.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with a high degree of self-motivation.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English.
- Competence in reading and accurately following standard operating procedures.
- Effective utilization of scientific information resources.
Physical Requirements:
The role involves regular sitting, talking, moving between areas, reaching, and stooping. Close vision is required for computer work, and the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds is necessary.
Work Environment:
The work setting is a typical office environment that includes laboratory and cubicle spaces. Employees are expected to work in the lab area, where the noise level is moderate due to equipment and conversations.
