Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Parking Operations Manager to oversee the logistics of parking events at The Ohio State University/CampusParc. The successful candidate will ensure a smooth and efficient parking experience for attendees, the University, and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement parking strategies based on event size, location, and expected attendance.
  • Coordinate with event organizers to understand parking needs and preferences.
  • Review and approve work schedules to ensure adequate coverage while minimizing expenses.
  • Respond to operational issues when needed, often after normal business hours.
  • Develop budgets and monitor financials to meet business goals.
  • Manage and submit employee, operations, and payroll reports.
  • Create and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Monitor and report on expenses, adhering to guidelines.
  • Train and supervise Assistant Managers, Supervisors, and other Event Staff involved in managing parking.
  • Ensure staff are well-informed about their roles and responsibilities.
  • Assign tasks and ensure effective communication among all Team members.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relations and attend client meetings.
  • Primary contact for the University and client, ensuring needs and expectations are met.
  • Foster positive relationships to build long-term partnerships.
  • Design and implement parking layouts to maximize space and efficiency.
  • Direct staff on signage and other infrastructure to guide attendees to parking areas.
  • Assist supervisors in handling customer complaints and day-to-day operational issues.
  • Address parking-related issues or complaints from event attendees.
  • Provide clear instructions and assistance to ensure a smooth parking experience.
  • Ensure all parking areas are safe and compliant with local regulations.
  • Manage traffic flow to prevent congestion and accidents.
  • Liaise with local authorities to manage road closures or special regulations.
  • Communicate parking information to staff through various channels.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of parking arrangements and gather feedback.
  • Prepare and present reports on event outcomes, including recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with various stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills to address any parking issues that arise.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff, attendees, and authorities.
  • Attention to detail to ensure all aspects of parking are handled meticulously.
  • Customer service skills to provide excellent service and enhance the attendee experience.
  • Technical skills, including knowledge of parking revenue management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A valid driver's license.

Working Conditions:

The Parking Operations Manager will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring high flexibility to work long and irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules. May include standing for extended periods and handling event materials.
