Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technician to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Cardiovascular Technician, you will be responsible for operating electrocardiographic machines and patient monitoring equipment to record electromotive variations and impulses of the heart.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform EKGs, holter monitors, ambulatory blood pressure machines, and event monitors to diagnose Coronary Artery Disease.
  • Monitor designated patients throughout the institution and notify appropriate personnel of changes and life-threatening rhythms.
  • Interpret, document, and mount EKG rhythm strips.
  • Deliver test results, perform quality assurance reports, and complete patient billing.
  • Maintain equipment, stock supplies, and transport patients.
  • Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols.
Requirements
  • High School or GED Equivalent.
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification within 30 days.
  • 1 year of directly related experience.
Working Conditions

This position requires medium work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The working conditions include exposure to med haz, dirt, dust, fumes, odors, bad weather, and noise.
