Senior Aquatic Supervisor

The Senior Aquatic Supervisor is a key hourly role within the Recreation Services Division. This position operates under the guidance of the Water Safety Coordinator and Operations Supervisor. The main focus is on overseeing recreational activities at the Aqua Adventure Waterpark while ensuring the safe operation of all attractions. Responsibilities may encompass staff supervision, public assistance, educational outreach, rule enforcement, first aid administration, scheduling, light maintenance tasks, and water quality testing.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
This is a general overview of responsibilities and is not exhaustive:
- Oversee personnel at Aqua Adventure Waterpark
- Facilitate public engagement to promote recreational activities and ensure safe and lawful usage
- Deliver exceptional customer service while executing assigned tasks, including relaying information throughout the Waterpark
- Guarantee the safety of all visitors and staff within the facility
- Respond to emergencies promptly and safely
- Generate detailed reports of incidents and injuries
- Assist in staff training and documentation, audits, accident investigations, and inspections
- Identify hazardous situations and secure the area until assistance arrives
- Adhere to the standards set by designated safety agencies
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of assigned duties
- Participate in training sessions and staff meetings as required
- Support other departments during major emergencies
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- One (1) year of lifeguarding experience is preferred
- Must be willing to comply with child abuse reporting requirements
- Successfully complete Lifeguard Training, along with CPR and First Aid certifications
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, effectively engaging with diverse audiences
- Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operational instructions, and procedural manuals
- Capable of managing sensitive and/or stressful situations with discretion and confidentiality
- Demonstrate good organizational skills and the ability to multitask
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary
- Must be certified in Adult/Child CPR & First Aid from an approved organization within 30 days of hire
- Must provide verification of legal eligibility to work in the United States
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Must secure and retain a valid driver's license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
All candidates must meet the following physical demands:
- Swim 50 yards without stopping
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods (up to 100% of assigned shift)
- Ability to walk up and down stairs
- Retrieve a 10-pound object from 4 feet of water
- Utilize a whistle and hand signals effectively
- Lift and maneuver objects weighing at least 50 pounds
- Bend, kneel, stoop, push, and pull as necessary
- Work in outdoor conditions, including wet environments and extreme heat
- Work in direct sunlight
- Meet vision requirements including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in:
- Enforcing rules and regulations
- Crowd management
- Handling emergency situations
SELECTION PROCESS
Qualified applicants will be assessed based on relevant experience and presentation quality. The most qualified candidates will be invited for an interview, which may include written and physical assessments. Successful candidates will be placed on an eligibility list for immediate hiring.
