Critical Care Transport Paramedic Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Transport Paramedic to join our team at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. As a Critical Care Transport Paramedic, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care during inter-facility and emergency transports, following our predetermined treatment protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide critical care to patients during transports, adhering to our treatment protocols and standards of care.
  • Complete patient care records, detailing patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes.
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding transport processes, interventions, and post-transport care.
  • Inspect medical equipment and supplies, ensuring proper functioning and adequate quantities.
  • Interact with colleagues, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner, upholding our hospital's core values.
Requirements:
  • Paramedic (EMT-P) certification.
  • Pennsylvania Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) certifications.
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
  • Three years of previous field paramedic experience in a critical care transport program or 911 ALS ambulance service.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with advanced life support skills, such as intubation, IV insertion, medication administration, EKG interpretation, and chest decompression.
  • Current medical command in good standing with the Philadelphia EMS Office or another region in Pennsylvania or New Jersey.
