Job Summary:

The Development Director plays a vital role in sustaining our mission by leading donor engagement efforts, expanding the donor base, and collaborating with board members and staff to meet annual revenue goals.

Responsibilities:

  1. Fundraising Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy to increase philanthropic support. Identify and prioritize revenue opportunities across individual giving, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, and special events.
  2. Donor Cultivation & Stewardship: Cultivate relationships with major donors, ensuring consistent and meaningful engagement. Develop and manage a comprehensive donor stewardship program, including personalized outreach, acknowledgment letters, impact reports, and recognition events.
  3. Grant Writing & Management: Identify and pursue grant opportunities that align with our program goals. Oversee the full grant lifecycle, including research, proposal writing, submission, and reporting to ensure compliance and foster strong relationships with funders.
  4. Event Planning & Management: Lead the planning and execution of major fundraising events, such as Cookin' for Kids, Pullin' for Kids, Heroes for Hope, and Chip in for Children. Coordinate with event committees, vendors, sponsors, and volunteers to ensure successful events that generate revenue and raise awareness.
  5. Community & Corporate Partnerships: Build relationships with local businesses, community groups, and corporate partners to secure sponsorships, in-kind donations, and other forms of support. Represent us at networking events, community meetings, and public engagements to increase visibility and foster collaboration.
  6. Communications & Public Relations: Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling fundraising materials, including newsletters, appeals, impact reports, and digital content. Develop messaging and branding for development communications to ensure consistent representation of our mission and impact.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in fundraising, with proven success in donor relations, major gift solicitation, and event management.
  • Skills:
    • Strong relationship-building skills, with a history of cultivating and securing major gifts.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
    • Proficiency in donor management software and MS Office Suite.
    • Experience in grant writing and reporting, with a solid understanding of grant compliance.
    • Project management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.

Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and bonuses.
