As a key member of the Geisinger Ophthalmology team, the Ophthalmology Technician Team Lead plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical services. Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate training and orientation programs for clinical staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Assess ongoing training needs and develop strategies to address them, ensuring that staff are equipped to handle complex clinical situations.
  • Serve as a resource for staff, providing guidance and support to resolve problems and improve patient outcomes.
  • Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback to help them grow and develop in their roles.
  • Intercede on behalf of staff when issues arise with physicians, patients, or other clinic personnel, ensuring that conflicts are resolved in a fair and timely manner.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory agency requirements, safety standards, and infection control procedures, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Evaluate clinic flow and recommend changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness, streamlining processes to enhance patient care.
  • Assist with staffing plans, ensuring that the right staff are in place to meet the needs of our patients.
  • Provide clinical or diagnostic support services to patients or providers as needed, demonstrating a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required. Minimum of 3 years of related work experience. Certification(s) and License(s) as required by the state of employment. Skills: Acts Decisively, Communication, Computer Literacy, Customer Service, Leads Others, Multitasking, Supervisory Customer Service, Teamwork.
