Position Summary:We are seeking a skilled Railcar Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the operations of our repair facility. This role is essential in ensuring that our production meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise the hourly workforce engaged in the repair and maintenance of railroad tank cars and other rolling stock.
- Ensure compliance with AAR, DOT, and company quality control standards by conducting thorough inspections of completed work.
- Record labor hours and material usage accurately and in a timely manner.
- Monitor production schedules and effectively manage the workflow of subordinates.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, addressing hazardous conditions promptly to minimize employee injuries.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support related projects.
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma and extensive knowledge of AAR/DOT regulations, along with several years of supervisory experience in a tank car repair or heavy industrial environment. Familiarity with welding, painting, and coating techniques is advantageous.
Working Conditions:This position requires physical stamina, including the ability to climb ladders, lift objects up to 50 lbs, and work in confined spaces. Candidates must be comfortable with heights and have the visual and auditory acuity to recognize safety signals.
