The Credit Special Situations and Workout Lead will be responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and restructuring distressed and non-performing assets held in MassMutual's General Investment Account (GIA). The goal is to minimize losses and maximize returns. This role will work closely with internal asset class experts, segment portfolio managers, and the Head of Fixed Income Portfolio Management.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and analyze distressed and non-performing assets to identify opportunities for restructuring and recovery.
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize losses and maximize returns on GIA holdings.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external asset managers to review and optimize fixed income portfolios.
- Provide expert analysis and recommendations to inform investment decisions and drive business outcomes.
- Oversee and monitor potential impairments for assets held in the GIA, working closely with the CFO's team.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant workout experience with full sector and security selection responsibility.
- Deep understanding and strong experience in bankruptcies, workouts, and restructurings of assets and/or companies.
- Well-developed analytical skills reflected in credit and/or cash-flow analysis.
- Strong academic credentials, ideally including a CFA and/or an M.B.A. degree.
