About the Role
We're seeking a skilled Plant Operator to join our team in Salcha, AK. As a Plant Operator, you'll be responsible for operating the emulsion plant and supporting the efficient and effective operations in the magazine area. You'll work closely with our distribution team to dispatch and receive finished products, detonators, tubing, and raw materials in accordance with national codes and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the distribution safety schedule is met and provide adequate feedback to distribution operators.
- Manage machinery and equipment breakdowns to minimize business interruption.
- Communicate post goods issue progress to the team.
- Liaise with site distribution to ensure documentation flows in a timely manner.
- Manage explosives limits within the magazines as required by regulations.
- Ensure accuracy of magazine inventory operations.
- Deliver cost-effective and timely product delivery.
- Establish cost-effective working relationships with distribution contractors.
- Deliver agreed levels of service.
- Ensure magazines and inventories are compliant with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Operating equipment and front-end loader experience is a plus.
- Tractor-trailer driving experience is a plus.
- Mechanical experience, working with hand tools, is a plus.
- Plant operation experience is a plus, but not required – we offer on-the-job training.
Physical Requirements
- Work environment involves being outside in all types of weather.
- Lifting up to 60 pounds or carrying 50 pounds or more of product or other materials.
- Pushing, pulling, bending, and squatting while using equipment.

Compensation
- Hourly pay rate: $26.13.
