As a Senior Procurement Operational Buyer, your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively oversee the performance of raw material suppliers to ensure the Material Requirement Plan is achieved.
  • Maintain and ensure the availability of relevant Procurement Master Data in SAP for reliable Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and efficient PO creation.
  • Assist category managers and strategic buyers in executing their supply strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with Accounts Payable to address invoice inquiries.
  • Comprehend and support site-specific stakeholder needs through knowledge of category strategy and sourcing guidelines.
  • Lead and coordinate communication regarding status, progress, results, and action plans with site and global stakeholders.
  • Manage strategic purchasing of materials within the assigned category, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards, including cost, delivery timelines, and quality.
  • Conduct RFx processes and negotiate volumes, processes, and performance targets with suppliers in alignment with global category strategy.
  • Develop sourcing and strategy implementation plans for assigned categories and material groups, in line with global category strategy.
  • Monitor compliance with specifications, resolve issues, and implement action plans with teams and suppliers to prevent performance challenges.
  • Own actions for assigned materials category to contribute to financial targets and delivery metrics.
  • Ensure efficient procurement and supply of materials in accordance with quantity, price, and specifications to meet manufacturing requirements.
  • Independently lead business review meetings and support supplier review meetings.
  • Conduct negotiations aligned with global category strategies and facilitate solution-oriented meetings to manage vendor performance.
  • Oversee and resolve Vendor Returns (RMA, Cost Recovery, Replacements).
  • Facilitate regular open order review meetings with vendors.
  • Manage Accounts Payable inquiries related to invoice issues.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives for enhanced operational efficiency and material supply chain effectiveness.
  • Engage with local, regional, and global stakeholders to ensure effective communication and transparency in procurement activities.
  • Understand and address site/region requirements for assigned materials category, driving activities aligned with global strategy.
  • Conduct regular benchmarking of supplier and product portfolios to ensure access to innovation and competitive pricing.
  • Support and lead local, regional, and global projects in collaboration with suppliers.
  • Define governance and coordinate the implementation of global category strategies at the site and regional levels.
  • Lead or support additional projects as agreed within the DPP Operations team.
  • Adhere to local and global policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure supply meets KPIs and local/global targets without impacting production.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of standard practices in Purchasing.
  • Ability to interpret documents such as material masters and vendor certificates.
  • Capability to identify assembly components.
  • Understanding of various MRP types and their impact on inventory levels.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors.
  • Skill in accurately describing discrepancies between requirements and vendor-supplied materials.
  • Effective communication skills with customers, vendors, and internal partners.
  • Basic mathematical skills for calculations in various units of measure.
  • Willingness to perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in buying/planning within an integrated ERP environment, preferably SAP.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Purchasing and Vendor Management.
  • Associates degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in Supply Chain or Material Management, with knowledge of spare parts preferred. Professional certifications (CPIM, CSCP, ISM, APICS) are a plus.

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: $35 - $38 per hour
