Shift: 3rd Shift - Friday to Sunday, 5 AM to 5 PM (Work 36 Hours, Get Paid for 40 Hours)

Competitive Pay up to $25.75/hr Based on Experience

Role Purpose:

The CNC Machining Specialist is responsible for setting up and operating various machine tools to manufacture precision components. This role requires a solid understanding of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, and machining processes. The specialist will also construct, assemble, or rebuild machinery such as blowers, pumps, and similar equipment utilized in sectors like transportation and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize mathematical skills to calculate dimensions and tolerances with precision instruments like micrometers and calipers.
  • Develop and enhance Standard Work combination sheets to document machining and assembly procedures, ensuring consistency and repeatability.
  • Engage in the 5 Why Process for real-time problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines accurately.
  • Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for effective machinery preparation.
  • Machine components to specifications using tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate basic and advanced machine tools for precision machining tasks.
  • Inspect completed parts for defects and ensure they meet specifications using precision instruments.
  • Adjust machine controls or enter commands to manage computerized machine operations.
  • Position and fasten workpieces accurately.
  • Align components for assembly, either manually or with hoists.
  • Verify parts clearances and perform rework, repair, or replacement of damaged components.
  • Interpret and follow Bill of Material to retrieve parts for assembly and make necessary corrections.
  • Assemble units of various sizes and models using standard work and engineering documents.
  • Ensure proper lubrication and cooling of workpieces.
  • Collaborate with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing teams to exchange technical information.
  • Operate equipment to assess operational efficiency.
  • Maintain cleanliness and lubrication of machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Exhibit excellence in completing all other assigned duties.

Qualifications:

Experience and Education:

  • High School diploma required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in assembly and/or CNC machining preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including design, use, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of production processes, quality control, and cost management.
  • Mathematical proficiency, including arithmetic and algebra.
  • Ability to monitor operations and ensure machinery is functioning correctly.
  • Experience in quality control analysis through testing and inspections.
  • Skills in operation and control of equipment or systems.
  • Troubleshooting abilities to identify and resolve operational errors.
  • Routine maintenance skills for equipment upkeep.

Tools/Technology:

  • Ability to read blueprints, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Capability to determine and complete offsets using basic mathematics.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs repetitively.
  • Capacity to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment during work hours.

Proficiencies:

  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Mechanical assembly capabilities.
  • Experience troubleshooting CNC machines.
  • Blueprint reading proficiency.

Machinery and Technologies:

  • CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC) - Brands: Fanuc, Mazak, Haas, Okuma, Makino.
  • CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) - Brands: Mazak, Haas, Okuma, Doosan.

Salary Information:

$18.54 / hr
