Unit Mission:

The primary objective of the School of Nursing is to influence the future of nursing through education, research, and collaborative efforts.

Purpose of the Role:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Nursing Faculty specializing in Medical Surgical and Adult Care. This is a full-time, 12-month faculty role that requires clinical expertise in acute care with a focus on adult health. The selected faculty member will be responsible for teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses in adult health, engaging in curriculum development, implementation, and assessment; coordinating clinical sections and educational sites; supervising students during clinical placements; participating in governance activities within the school; and fulfilling all responsibilities associated with a faculty role, including teaching, research, and service.

Faculty appointments, including rank and salary, will be determined based on scholarly achievements, certifications, and teaching experience.

Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in Virginia Advanced degree in nursing Clinical experience in adult acute care settings Proven effectiveness in collaboration and communication Experience or commitment to fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree (PhD or DNP) in nursing or a related discipline Background in higher education, including teaching and simulation training Demonstrated achievements in research and professional service
