Unit Mission:

The School of Nursing is dedicated to advancing the nursing profession through innovative education, research, and collaborative practices.

Primary Objective of the Role:

The Commonwealth of Virginia seeks qualified candidates for the position of Medical Surgical/Adult Care Faculty. This is a 12-month faculty role at an open rank, focusing on clinical expertise in acute care with an emphasis on adult health. The selected faculty member will be responsible for teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels in adult health, contributing to the development, execution, and assessment of the curriculum, coordinating clinical sections and educational sites, supervising undergraduate clinical students, engaging in governance activities within the school, and fulfilling all responsibilities associated with term faculty roles (teaching, research, and service).

Faculty rank, appointment type (term or tenure-eligible), and compensation will be determined based on proven scholarly achievements, certifications, and teaching experience.

Current or eligible for registered nurse licensure in Virginia Advanced degree in nursing Clinical experience in adult acute care environments Proven effectiveness in collaboration and communication Experience or commitment to fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student body Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree (PhD or DNP) in nursing or a related discipline Background in higher education, including teaching and simulation-based instruction Demonstrated achievements in scholarship and professional service
