Job Summary

As a Swim Lesson Instructor with the City of Troy, MI, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality aquatic programs to our community. This role requires a strong passion for teaching and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging swim lessons to students of all ages and skill levels
  • Plan and prepare lesson materials, including creating lesson plans and setting up equipment
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, parents, and facility users
  • Maintain a safe and clean facility, including the pool area and locker rooms
  • Assist with special events and facility operations as needed
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure seamless program delivery
Requirements
  • Minimum age 16 years
  • Responsible, courteous, and good communication skills
  • Ability to work without close supervision and work well with young children
  • Sense of pride and accomplishment in one's work
Compensation and Hours

Work hours are determined by pool operation hours. Year-around staff must be able to work 5 hours per week, while summer seasonal staff must be able to work 12 hours per week. Starting salary is $14 per hour.
