Residential Substance Abuse Counselor Position

Center Point DAAC is seeking a skilled Substance Abuse Counselor to provide comprehensive treatment services at our residential facility, Dr. Sushma D. Taylor Recovery Center (SDTRC). As a Residential Counselor, you will work closely with clients to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, promoting recovery and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Direct Treatment: Serve as primary counselor to residential clients, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, conduct individual and group counseling sessions, facilitate education groups and daily house meetings, collect urinalysis samples from clients of their own gender, and maintain accurate client records and documentation.
- Communications/Teamwork/Training & Support: Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings, collaborate with treatment team to ensure comprehensive care, communicate with external agencies and referral sources, and participate in case consultation and training opportunities.
- Problem Solving: Oversee conflict resolution with clients, respond to crisis situations and provide support.
- Time & Accountability: Maintain good attendance and punctuality, manage time effectively, ensure current certification and licensure.
- Valid registration or certification in Substance Abuse Counseling from an accredited institution: CCAPP, CAADE, CADTP.
- 2+ years of experience in residential treatment or related fields.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Knowledge of substance abuse treatment and counseling techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Valid California Driver's License.
