Job Title: Residential Substance Abuse Counselor Supervisor

About the Role

Center Point DAAC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Substance Abuse Counselor Supervisor to join our team at the Dr. Sushma D. Taylor Recovery Center (SDTRC). As a Residential Substance Abuse Counselor Supervisor, you will provide oversight and guidance to counseling staff, promoting recovery and well-being in a residential setting.



Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Treatment:

    • Supervise and guide counseling staff in individual and group settings.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
    • Develop and implement training programs for counseling staff.
    • Oversee client intake and assessment processes.
    • Review and approve treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
    • Provide clinical guidance and consultation to counseling staff.
    • Facilitate education groups and workshops.
    • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure comprehensive care.

  • Communications/Teamwork/Training & Support:

    • Participate in weekly staff meetings and contribute to team discussion.
    • Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure comprehensive care.
    • Communicate with external agencies and referral sources.
    • Participate in case consultation and training opportunities.

  • Problem Solving:

    • Address and resolve conflicts with clients.
    • Respond to crisis situations and provide support.

  • Time & Accountability:

    • Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
    • Manage time effectively.
    • Ensure current certification and licensure.


    Requirements

    • Valid registration or certification in Substance Abuse Counseling from an accredited institution (e.g., CCAPP, CAADE, CADTP).
    • 2+ years of experience in residential treatment or related fields.
    • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
    • Strong leadership and management skills.
    • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
    • Knowledge of substance abuse treatment and counseling techniques.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
    • Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
    • Valid California Driver's License.
