Substance Abuse Counselor

We are seeking an experienced Bilingual (Spanish/English) Registered or Certified Intake Counselor to join our admissions team at Center Point DAAC's outpatient clinic in Santa Rosa, California.
About the Job:
- The ideal candidate will possess flexibility to work on weekends and a strong background in substance abuse treatment.
- The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills and a passion for empowering individuals to overcome addiction.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluation assessments and determine admission criteria for residential and outpatient treatment programs.
- Provide direct treatment, facilitate education and process groups, and collect urinalysis tests from clients.
- Maintain accurate client files, case notes, and daily records to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality care.
- Respond to community inquiries, provide written reports, and participate in staff meetings to foster effective communication.
- C Coordinate with medical service providers to ensure clients receive necessary medical care.
- C Coordinate with mental health service providers to ensure all required care and medication is provided.
- Others duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Valid registration or certification in Substance Abuse Counseling from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in outpatient substance abuse treatment or related field.
- Experience in intake and admissions, with knowledge of admission criteria and procedures.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred, but not required.
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Valid California Driver's License.
- Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities and counseling techniques.
- Experience with evidence-based substance abuse treatment models and an understanding of treatment modalities.
- Knowledge of community resources and services.
- Knowledge of drug and alcohol addiction and trauma-informed care.
- Ability to do data entry into various electronic systems.
Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position is $30-$35 per hour. Fluent bilingual speakers may be eligible for an additional $2/hour differential.
