The Opportunity
You will play a vital role as a Medical Assistant (also known as Medical Member Support Specialist/Lab Service Specialist) in providing an exceptional experience for our patients and helping them navigate their care journey. As an ambassador for patients in our office, you will possess a mastery of human connection and a strong drive for service, combining excellent specimen collection technique with tactful interpersonal skills during every interaction.
As a strong team player, you will use your innovative problem-solving skills to tackle various tasks and challenges. Your ability to combine technical expertise with empathetic communication will enable you to deliver individualized, human-centered, customer-focused care to our diverse patient population.
Responsibilities
- Deliver best-in-class venipuncture services for patients across a wide age range, from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Perform and assist with extended scope duties, such as non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs
- Maintain high standards of in-office care by ensuring proper specimen labeling, handling, and processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization
- Contribute to dispensary responsibilities, including verifying counts, maintaining inventory, placing orders, receiving and stocking, filling, packaging, and labeling prescriptions for patient pick-up
- Care for our members beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting our providers and virtual medical team with clerical duties, such as biometric screening forms, medical record reviews, billing inquiries, and DOH reporting
- Utilize impeccable C-I-CARE principles in all patient interactions to ensure a positive in-office experience through patient intake, same-day schedule management, follow-up scheduling, strong knowledge of billing and insurance, monitoring patient feedback, and assisting with outreach as needed
- Assist our senior patients with other administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, sending faxes, and coordinating transportation
- Contribute to team development through rounding, attending team huddles, participating in team problem-solving, supporting in-office providers with ad-hoc requests, and performing opening and closing duties/daily office upkeep, including maintaining the look and feel of both patient- and employee-facing spaces, restocking supplies, and organization
- Mastery of our technology suite, including Slack, G-suite, Zoom, Circulation, RingCentral, and our Electronic Medical Record System, is required to interact with team members and complete daily work
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Proficiency in computer technology, including typing, navigating the internet, and using multiple software systems simultaneously
- Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams, with additional experience with remote teams a plus
- A proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process while delivering individualized, human-centered, customer-focused care
- A proven track record of persisting through change, consistently stepping up to take action on challenges, and learning quickly and effectively when faced with new situations or tasks
- Phlebotomy experience and/or certification are preferred

Compensation
- $22.75 per hour based on a full-time schedule
This is a full-time role (40 hours/week) with 8-hour shifts generally taking place Monday-Friday between 7:30am-6:30pm at our Dartmouth office in Hanover, NH.
