POSITION SUMMARY:

The Housekeeping Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of housekeeping and laundry services. This role is crucial in fostering a dynamic and positive work atmosphere that leads to outstanding guest experiences.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet daily operational needs while optimizing productivity and efficiency in accordance with company labor guidelines.
  • Take charge of the recruitment and hiring processes for all housekeeping roles.
  • Manage administrative functions such as staffing, training, and budgeting to guarantee effective planning and organization.
  • Engage with guests, employees, and members in a courteous and personalized manner.
  • Maintain continuous communication with hotel department heads and the front desk regarding guest requests and the overall condition of rooms and common areas.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the housekeeping and laundry teams to ensure alignment on objectives and priorities.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor and strong leadership qualities, emphasizing safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Coordinate guest check-ins, departures, and any special requirements.
  • Build relationships with hotel guests and distinguished visitors; assist guests to their rooms as needed, encourage feedback during their stay, and offer to manage special requests.
  • Proactively address and fulfill guest service needs.
  • Oversee inventory management and procurement of supplies and linens for the housekeeping department.
  • Provide training on safety protocols and standard operating procedures to all housekeeping staff as directed by management.
  • Supervise and inspect the cleanliness of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces; ensure compliance with health and sanitation standards to achieve high cleanliness and guest satisfaction levels.
  • Distribute supplies and equipment as required and participate in regular inventory checks to maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Stay informed about the proper use and maintenance of laundry equipment, chemical handling, and linen care.
  • Recommend and implement necessary changes to meet and exceed company goals while enhancing service and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with brand and company quality standards by conducting inspections, including deep cleaning assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Engineer on projects related to floor care, deep cleaning, and routine maintenance of public areas, guest rooms, and grounds.
  • Assign keys and work tasks to staff members.
  • Address guest concerns regarding housekeeping services or equipment; intervene and document incidents involving guests or employees.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned or required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Mobility throughout the building, including bending, stooping, and reaching to assist team members as needed.
