Position Overview:

The role of the Child and Family Services Coordinator is to deliver extensive support to families and children within the designated community, particularly focusing on those with children from birth to five years old.

This position requires the ability to engage with parents and children in their home settings, fostering a respectful and strength-based relationship with families while integrating into the local community.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to Family Support Principles while managing a caseload of 20-25 families.
  • Proactively seek out and enroll new families into the program.
  • Conduct a minimum of two home visits each month for every family, concentrating on child development, parental engagement, health services, nutrition, and family support.
  • Offer practical, emotional, and social assistance to families through home visits.
  • Collect and maintain data and documentation in accordance with established data safeguarding protocols.
  • Complete assessments for both the head of household and all children.
  • Establish individual goals for adults and children, as well as a comprehensive family goal plan.
  • Perform child assessments biannually.
  • Input data into designated systems by specified deadlines.
  • Keep family files current and organized.
  • Welcome and engage with all families, ensuring positive communication.
  • Support families and peers in their journey towards self-sufficiency.
  • Facilitate resource and referral services for families and community members.
  • Provide crisis intervention and help families build supportive networks.
  • Organize and participate in weekly parent support and parent-child interaction groups.

Encourage family participation in evening groups and activities.


  • Promote strong parent-child bonds.
  • Advocate for families with various service providers and systems.

Maintain collaborative relationships with service providers.


  • Engage in community outreach initiatives.
  • Foster reciprocal relationships grounded in respect.
  • Assist in the upkeep of the center, contributing to a clean and welcoming environment.
  • Pursue ongoing training and information that benefits families and the team.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to ensure the program's smooth operation.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in education, child development, family relations, social work, or guidance counseling with one year of relevant experience; or an Associate's degree with two years of experience; or a high school diploma/GED with three years of experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication, writing, interpersonal, organizational, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities, initiative, and capacity to work independently.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Competence in tracking, evaluating, and interpreting program data to ensure high-quality services.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Commitment to adhering to organizational conduct policies.
Working Conditions:

The physical demands of this role include the ability to sit for extended periods, lift and carry up to 35 pounds, kneel, crouch, bend, and reach for materials. Effective communication with individuals who may have limited English proficiency is essential, along with clear hearing and adequate vision.
