About the Role

The Radiology Technologist performs a variety of diagnostic and screening imaging procedures, including ER, surgical, fluoroscopic, and portable procedures. This role requires effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, and the ability to work under the direction of a Radiologist and supervision of the Imaging Services Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic and screening imaging procedures, including ER, surgical, fluoroscopic, and portable procedures.
  • Assist Radiologists in procedures requiring sterile technique.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media.
  • Assess patient condition prior to and during all procedures.
  • Follow and adhere to facility and department guidelines.
  • Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other department-related duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associate degree or satisfactory completion of a formal AMA-approved school or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in diagnostic imaging.
  • Licensed Medical Radiologic Technologist by the Texas Medical Board.
  • Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 90 days of hire date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
