Customer Service Representative Job Description

At U-Haul, we're seeking a skilled and friendly Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our rental center team, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a seamless rental experience, and maintaining our equipment fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers with U-Haul products and services, providing solutions to their needs and concerns.
  • Use U-Scan technology to manage rentals and inventory, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Move and hook up U-Haul trucks and trailers, ensuring safe and secure transportation.
  • Clean and inspect equipment on the lot, checking fluid levels and performing routine maintenance.
  • Answer customer questions and educate them on our products and services.
  • Prepare rental invoices and accept equipment returned from rental.
  • Install hitches and trailer wiring, ensuring safe and secure connections.
  • Fulfill propane and drive a forklift, with certification offered through U-Haul.
  • Participate in ongoing continuous education through U-Haul University.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts, requiring special safety precautions. You may be required to use protective clothing or gear, such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion, including long periods of remaining stationary, moving around indoors and outdoors, positioning yourself to reach objects at varying heights, and moving equipment weighing a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
