Senior Accountant II

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and post journal entries to support the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Conduct monthly account reconciliations to verify the accuracy of our ledger and identify any discrepancies.
  • Calculate and enter monthly operated revenue distributions, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Process revenue payments and support land and AP payment processing, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely payments.
  • Prepare annual property tax filings and track related accruals and payments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Process monthly severance tax filings and payments, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely payments.
  • Maintain vendors and select master files within our ERP system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Assist with financial reporting and compile data for regular reporting requirements, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by the Controller, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to excellence.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, with a strong foundation in financial principles and practices.
  • At least 5 years of prior accounting experience, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.
  • Enertia knowledge preferred, with experience working with similar accounting software.
  • Oil and Gas accounting experience preferred, with a strong understanding of industry-specific regulations and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a desk, bend over, reach above head, lift under 20 pounds, view computer screen for extended periods, and type on a keyboard.
