Position SummaryWe have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sleep Technologist II, Comprehensive Epilepsy - per diem. In this role, you will show significant expertise in performing all aspects of Polysomnography for both clinical and research patients.
Under the general supervision of the Director, you will be responsible for performing polysomnographic procedures, including Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT), Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (MWT), parasomnia studies, PAP, oxygen titration, and other sleep-related tests. You will also be responsible for preparing and calibrating equipment, applying electrodes and sensors, and performing physiologic calibrations to ensure proper signals.
Job Responsibilities- Gather and analyze patient information to identify and meet patient-specific needs.
- Complete and verify documentation, including sleep study reports and patient records.
- Explain pre-testing, testing, and post-testing procedures to patients.
- Prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing.
- Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards.
- Perform polysomnographic procedures, including data acquisition and monitoring of study-tracing quality.
- Document routine observations, including sleep stages and clinical events.
- Implement appropriate interventions, including actions necessary for patient safety and therapeutic intervention.
- Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events according to center-specific protocols.
- Generate accurate reports by tabulating sleep/wake and clinical event data.
To qualify, you must have a NYS OP License and current registration as a Polysomnographic Technologist, OR, Registered Respiratory Therapist, OR Respiratory Therapy Technician competent to perform Polysomnographic Technology services. 5 years experience in Polysomnography or a related field is required.
