Job Summary

The Banquet Captain will be the primary point of contact between SPiN Boston and Events, ensuring seamless service for clients and effective communication between departments.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the banquet team in serving guests during events to ensure a positive experience.
  • Coordinate food and beverage to ensure smooth service throughout the event.
  • Provide exceptional SPiN Boston service and ensure all public areas are neat and clean.
  • Inspect banquet areas at the end of the function to ensure all equipment is returned to its proper area and all areas are clean.
  • Plan opening and closing assignments for the serving team and create floor plans to ensure each event has a specific server.
  • Know the menu for each function served and be able to explain the major ingredients and preparation method for each item.
  • Understand Banquet Event Orders to ensure safe and efficient event set up and break down.
  • Complete prep and side work efficiently to focus attention on guest care.
  • Respond to guest questions, requests, and concerns with prompt courtesy.
  • Interact with hosts and guests during the event to ensure their satisfaction and meet any additional requirements.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading in a banquet environment.
  • Ability to listen and resolve customer complaints while achieving high customer service standards.
  • Suggestive selling skills and self-starter with accuracy and speed in executing all assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with all staff.
  • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, lift 50 lbs, and work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Must be flexible with work schedules.
